1. Adele & Darius Rucker - Need You Now
This one’s for the unapologetic sap in me. I struggled with liking the original Lady Antebellum song because it’s good but it has this crossover-country-easy listening-adult-radio-vibe. But this cover is just a teensy bit more soulful and a teensy bit more perfect.
  2. Beyonce - Why Don’t You Love Me
I got beauty, I got heart, keep my head in them books, I’m smart. Nuff said.
  3. Storm Large - I Want You
I like a lot of the songs Elvis Costello has written but I’m not too crazy about his voice. So sue me. This is a song that makes me feel. Even if I’ve never been in this exact place, I can just feel what she’s saying. Also, it’s scary as hell. Not even the screaming bit, but the ominous “I want you, I’m afraid I don’t know where to stop”.
  4. Robyn - Indestructible (acoustic)
If I should ever lose my ever loving mind and want a wedding, this would make a good first dance. It’s a beautiful song in any context.
  5. The Lonely Island - Motherlover
I don’t know why but I can’t bring myself to skip it. Ever. Call it a guilty pleasure.
